An excavator has a boom, bucket, cab, and rotating platform that sits on an undercarriage with tracks or wheels.
Overall, the excavator works by using the operator’s control inputs to direct the flow of hydraulic fluid to the different cylinders, which in turn move the boom, dipper, and bucket to excavate material and move it to a different location.
